INTEGRIS Hospice Miami OK Seeks Volunteers
MIAMI, OK – INTEGRIS Hospice Miami is seeking volunteers to provide support and relief to hospice patients and their families. INTEGRIS Hospice provides free training to anyone who has a heart for hospice care. The training provides valuable information necessary to help hospice patients.
INTEGRIS Hospice Miami provides special care for the dying and their family members in Ottawa County and the neighboring counties of Delaware, Craig and Mayes. This service provides physical, spiritual and emotional support needed during the end of life process. This is accomplished through a team of nurses, home health aides, social workers, a chaplain and trained community volunteers.
Caregivers spend their days and nights focusing on the comfort of their loved one. They take short breaks when they can and many of their breaks are possible because of the generosity of volunteers. Volunteers provide much needed relief to caregivers by running errands, staying with patients, allowing caregivers an opportunity to take a break to attend to personal business, or even become a companion to a patient who may still live alone or in a nursing home. The time devoted by volunteers adds a very special comfort to caregivers and patients.
“Volunteers provide a special type of care and concern that is so meaningful to hospice patients and their families,” said Howard Hickox, volunteer coordinator. “They really do make a difference at the end of a patient’s life.”
INTEGRIS Hospice Miami is a non-profit, Medicare-certified hospice program dedicated to providing quality care to terminally ill persons and their families. For more information about this volunteer program, please contact Howard Hickox at INTEGRIS Hospice Miami at 918-542-1226.
