GLA Announces New Executive Director
The Grand Lake Association will be naming Rodney Ray, former City Manager of Owasso, as the new Executive Director of the Grand Lake Association starting August 1st.
“We are very excited to be naming Rodney as the new Executive Director,” said Ray Claggett, GLA President. “He has a tremendous amount of experience and will be a great asset for the GLA.”
The current director, Tad Jones, will be stepping down July 31st to assume the position of Executive Director of the Will Rogers Memorial in Claremore.
“Tad has done a great job at the GLA and we wish him all the best,” said Claggett.
The GLA board received a number of great resumes and after several meetings; the board unanimously approved Rodney as the new director.
“We were all extremely impressed with the energy level and experience that Rodney brings to the table,” said Art Box, Vice President of the GLA. “We all agreed that Rodney can help the GLA continue to grow and be a strong voice for the four-county region.”
Rodney served as the city manager of Owasso from 1986-1999 and again from 2001-2013. He also was Executive Director of the Associated Builders and Contractors of Oklahoma from 1980-1986 and has had a successful consulting firm.
“Grand Lake has a tremendous amount of potential and I am very excited to begin work at the association and working with the great people of the Grand Lake area,” said Ray.
