Miami, Okla. – Friday, Dec. 20, 2013 – The American Cowboy Rodeo Association (ACRA) has named Rodeo Miami as the 2013 Rodeo of the Year. The Top 20 contestants in each event vote on the annual awards which are announced during the ACRA Finals held in Tulsa. This is the fourth consecutive year that this regional organization has recognized the Miami event.
Despite rainy weather, Rodeo Miami drew a higher number of contestants than anticipated. The event is a combined effort of the Ottawa County Fair Board, Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College and the City of Miami. Vance Ford Lincoln Mercury of Miami remains the title sponsor of Rodeo Miami. Buffalo Run Casino and Quapaw Casino were presenting sponsors in 2013. Media sponsors included KSN, KODE, Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau, and KGLC Radio.
The City of Miami notes this event as a major economic boost to the local economy. As one of the signature events of the area, Rodeo Miami continues to bring visitors from many states, and organizers anticipate those numbers to continue to set records.
NEO continues to provide many volunteers, helping with setup, cleanup and concessions.
