AMERICAN HERITAGE FESTIVAL HAS NEW ‘STAGE 5′ AND EARLYBIRD TICKETS

Grove’s 2015 Summer Music Festival Series presented by Grand Lake Festivals, Inc. begins June 11, 12 & 13 with the American Heritage Music Festival at the Grove Civic Center and Snider’s Camp. Early Bird All-Event Passes and individual Earl Bird Tickets are available now until May 15, online at www.grandlakefestivals.com

New this year is a Fiddle Gathering on the south side of the Civic Center for jamming and performing! In addition to the contests on the north side of the Civic Center, all styles of music will be welcome for the Fiddle Gathering and on “GROVE STAGE 5” on the south side. Sign up soon for the 16 stage slots available! Grand Lake Festivals pays $5 each for up to 5 musicians to play a 10 to 15 minute set Friday 11:00-12:30 and Saturday 11:00 – 12:30 and 2:00- 3:30. The Fiddle Gathering and Stage 5 encourage all singers, acoustic instruments and styles, old-time, folk, contest, bluegrass, Celtic, swing, jazz. Anything goes but you’ve got to have a fiddle in the band!

The American Heritage Music Festival includes three stages of great entertainment and the nationally certified Grand Lake National Fiddle Contest, with more – contests include Flatpicking, Mandolin, Banjo, Dobro, Twin Fiddle, Hot Fiddle, Jukebox, Gambler’s, and Bob Wills. Grand Champion prize for the fiddle contest is $1000. Musicians from across the United States are getting their contest tunes ready for this exciting weekend of contests and entertainment.

DSC_0366_0210The public is invited to the Kick-off Party and Cook-Out at Snider’s Campground just south of Grove on Grand Lake O’ the Cherokees on Thursday night, June 11, and again on Friday night for another evening of delicious food and great entertainment. Admission to the campground is free to the public on Thursday night with a nominal fee charged on Friday night, June 12, as we feature stage entertainment followed by a return by popular request to listen and dance to the music of Bob Fjeldsted and the Round-Up Boys!

Great entertainment is planned for the entire weekend with daytime events and Saturday night concert held in Grove Civic Center and evening activities on Thursday and Friday nights at Snider’s Camp. Headliner for the Saturday night concert is fiddler Kyle Dillingham, who has electrified and energized audiences in over 30 countries around the world. Kyle recently performed at the First Baptist Church in Grove with the Oklahoma City University Orchestra. Dillingham was honored by Oklahoma Governor Brad Henry in 2009 with the Governor’s Arts Award and won Best Performing Artist in Slice Magazine’s 2013 and 2014 Best of the City Awards. This show always receives rave reviews!!

Entertainment throughout the weekend includes Jana Jae, founder of Grand Lake Festivals, with her family and friends, Prairie Breeze String Band, Osage Stomp, Ozark Wildfire, Blue Pearl, Finley River Boys and other great bands. Friday, June 12, contests begin with top-notch musicians vying for monetary prizes. Winners will be featured at the Saturday night concert.

Get your tickets early and save!!! Early Bird tickets are available until May 15 online at www.grandlakefestivals.com, by calling 918-786-8896, or at Jana Jae’s Gallery Southwest, 10th & Main, Grove, OK. Early-bird all event passes are $20 for adults and $10 for students. Prices go up at midnight on May 15.

Other festival dates include the Arts, Crafts, Music and Cajun Festival to be held at the Grove Civic Center on July 4 featuring Louisiana’s hottest Cajun band, Chris Miller and the “Bayou Roots” back by popular demand, along with Jana Jae and other fabulous entertainment. Mark your calendars because the Grove Civic Center is the place to be on July 4 for a great Independence Day celebration Cajun style. There will also be arts & crafts booths plus other interesting shopping venues.

The Jana Jae Fiddle Camp will be held over Labor Day weekend featuring renowned musicians performing and teaching workshops, demonstrations and master classes at the Grove Civic Center with evening activities at Snider’s Camp. Bring your lawn chairs and enjoy great lakeside entertainment .
