INTEGRIS Grove Hospital is pleased to introduce the newest member of the INTEGRIS medical staff, Kevin Dare, D.O. Dare is a board-certified general surgeon who joined the office of Kyle Wooderson, D.O., at INTEGRIS Grand Lake Surgeons Clinic.

Dare has a long history with INTEGRIS. He was born at INTEGRIS Baptist Medical Center in Oklahoma City where his father was also a pharmacist. Growing up in Binger, Okla., Dare was an athlete and scholar who knew from an early age he wanted a career in medicine. A family friend, who was also the town physician, inspired Dare and by the 7th grade, he knew his calling was to be a physician.

After receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in zoology from the University of Oklahoma, Dare earned his medical degree at the Oklahoma State University Center for Health Sciences in Tulsa, Okla. He completed his residency at the Oklahoma State University Medical Center in Tulsa where he also served as chief surgical resident.

After his residency, Dare completed concentrated fellowship training in complex abdominal wall reconstruction, anterior and posterior component separation, laparoscopic paraesophageal and hiatal hernia repair, and hand-assisted laparoscopic surgery.

Providing a prompt solution to help patients heal was one of several motives that drew Dare into the field of surgery. “It is gratifying to provide immediate healing for my patients. If surgery is the best option for my patient, it often provides immediate relief and healing. Being able to improve my patients’ quality of life and relieve their suffering, is a humbling and rewarding experience.”

His patients list his bedside manner as one of his greatest attributes. Dare said, “I spend a lot of time with my patients. I’ve found that sometimes what they need most, is for their doctor to listen to them. I enjoy getting to know them, learning about their life, and uncovering any concerns or fears they may have. I can put them at ease and I believe I can provide the very best treatment after establishing a rapport and educating my patients. Often I am able to adapt a treatment based on what I learn about my patients’ lifestyle and personal beliefs.”

Dare moved to Grove from Ponca City, Okla., where he served as a general surgeon and chief of surgery for Ponca City Medical Center.

An avid animal lover, Dare has a Great Dane, two Bulldogs and a Boxer. He enjoys outdoor activities including golf and looks forward to spending time on the lake.

Dare accepts Medicare, Medicaid and most insurance plans, and he is currently accepting new patients.
