The Grand Lake Sail and Power Squadron held its monthly membership meeting on March 17 at Eagle’s Landing Resort. The speaker was Wes Kreie of Marine Max Vacations which is associated with Harbor View Marina. Wes spoke about their vacation charters out of Tortola, British Virgin Islands. They offer fully equipped small or large boat charters. The charters can be crewed or bare boat.
There are several important upcoming events for the Squadron that are open to the public.
On May 3 there will be a reading at the Grove City Council meeting of a proclamation designating May 21-27 as Safe Boating Week in Grove.
The Squadron will have a Safe Boating Week kick-off event at Honey Creek Marina beginning at 10 am on May 21. There will be a reading of the proclamation. Free boat safety inspections will be offered. And, free hot dogs and snacks will be available for those attending. Also, that day, the Squadron will have a fund raising sale at the shops of Honey Creek Marina.
The annual shoreline cleanup will be on June 4. The Squadron will clean an area of the Grand Lake shoreline and staff dumpsters provided by a grant from GRDA for the public to deposit shoreline debris.
