Tagged Bass Being Caught All Over Grand Lake – Grand Lake Bass Extravaganza
The Grand Lake Extravaganza is well underway and there are tagged bass being caught all over the lake. As of Monday the 14th of April, 44 tagged bass had been caught on Grand Lake.
“This is an extraordinary number of tagged bass that have already been caught,” said Tad Jones, Executive Director of the Grand Lake Association. “We didn’t think this many would be caught during the whole event, but we are thrilled that anglers are pulling in tagged bass from everywhere on Grand.”
Anglers from around the country have caught tagged bass and many locals as well. The largest money amount given away so far was $5,000 to Tom Murphy from Richland, Missouri. Troy Gregg, from Branson, Missouri, also caught a tagged bass worth $5,000 off a new truck from Bob Hart Chevrolet in Vinita.
There were several winners this past weekend including Thomas Canaday from Bartlesville, Toby Harsell from Grove, Marty Moudy from Miami, Blake Deffenbaugh from Claremore, Tim Hickson from Cleveland, OK, Dan Mahaffey from Tulsa and Quinton Cook from Broken Arrow, all who won a $50 gift card from Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Tulsa.
JJ Hutton from Gardner, Kansas won a night’s stay, dinner for two and $20 in free play from Indigo Sky Casino. Micah Littlejohn from Grove, Scott Sallee from Collinsville, Dave Warrior from Bixby, Jay Scott from Jay and Brad Cook from Vinita, also won $50 in free play from Indigo Sky Casino.
Indigo Sky Casino is also sponsoring a chance at $100,000 in the Extravaganza as well as several $500 packages.
Russell Mullen from Pineville, Missouri won a night’s stay at the Outrigger Motel in Grove. Larry Slawson from Tulsa won a new Jason Christie Signature Falcon Rod.
“This event has been great so far and with the chance at $100,000 at there and a month left in the event, I’m now expecting a lot more tagged bass to be caught,” said Jones.
The Grand Lake Extravaganza will go until May 18th. Badges must be purchased for $20 to participate and can be purchased online, at the Grand Lake Visitor Center or at participating partners around the lake.
