Clint Walker & Jana Jae_crJana Jae, staff and volunteers have been working hard to make the 17th annual American Heritage Music Festival held June 5, 6, & 7 the best ever. With the line-up of outstanding musicians, fiddle and clogging contestants from all over the United States, and loyal and dedicated sponsors, a successful event is assured. See the schedule of events for where and when all the activities take place.

Snider’s Camp, located 1 mile south and ½ mile east of Honey Creek Bridge on Hwy 59S, Grove, OK. will host the activities on Thurs. & Fri. evenings, June 5 & 6 at 6:30. Delicious food and great entertainment promises a fun evening on the shores of the beautiful Grand Lake O’ the Cherokees. Free admission (food–$8 a plate). Bring your lawn chairs and enjoy! Thursday evening, June 5 Snider’s hosts the kick-off activities starting with great entertainment, a 30 Minute Band Scramble and the Honey Creek Gamblers’ Contest. Bob Fjeldsted and the Round-Up Boys will close out the evening activities playing favorite dance tunes—the audience will not be able to sit still when their music starts. Everyone is invited to wear their dancing shoes and join the fun dancing to this great Western Swing Music. Snider’s will also host the Sponsor Appreciation Night on Friday evening, June 6, featuring several new bands this year as well as traditional favorites of the festival. The public is invited to enjoy another great evening of entertainment featuring guest bands, cloggers and the popular Jukebox Contest. Any band with a fiddle can enter.

The Grove Civic Center (18th & Main, Grove, OK) is the setting for daytime events with the fiddle contests beginning at 9 a.m. on Fri. June 6, followed by other contests such as dobro, banjo, mandolin, and flatpicking. A Clogging Workshop & Seminar will be from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. On Sat. morning the Grand Lake National Fiddle Contest continues and the Grand Lake National Clogging Contest begins at 9 a.m. on a second stage and will continue throughout the day. Two separate areas and stages allow separation of the fiddling and clogging competitions. Spectators are encouraged to enjoy all areas of entertainment. Top prize in both events is $1000 with over 80 other cash prizes, making this festival one of the most competitive in the nation. Outstanding artists and crafters will have their prize winning works of art for sell in vendor booths with food vendors serving cuisine to satisfy any appetite.

12 year old Axyl Langford, Owasso, OK will open the Saturday night concert as she sings the National Anthem. Barbara McAlister, recent OK Music Hall of Fame inductee will join the festivities, and a full evening of great entertainment is planned featuring Clint Walker, singer, song writer and recording artist. Jana Jae, Family and Friends, including Barry “Bones” Patton, Bette and Daddy Joe Hopper will be featured throughout the festival along with many talented groups and entertainers including Jim Garling celebrating our western tradition with mellow renditions of old favorites. The Saturday night concert will also feature fiddle contest finalists. Ken and Lisa Beach, Coordinators of the Grand Lake National Clogging Competition will introduce the 2014 Championship Cloggers as they wow the audience with their dancing talent.
