GLSPS June2012 022The Grand Lake Sail & Power Squadron is getting geared up for the annual Grand Lake shoreline cleanup.  This year the cleanup date is Saturday, June 21st from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.  Dumpsters for lake debris (foam, etc.) will be available in several sights around Grand Lake.

Power squadron members will be manning the dumpster sights, making sure only lake debris (NOT household trash) are placed in the dumpsters.  Locations this year are:  Grove Spring Park, Bernice State Park, Ketchum Church, and the old lake patrol parking lot in Langley.

The Grand Lake Sail and Power Squadron is part of a national safe boating organization, stressing boating education and safety on the water.  The squadron meets monthly.  The motto this year is “Come for the Boating Education … Stay for the Friends” which perfectly describes the GLS&PS.

For further information about the Grand Lake Sail & Power Squadron or the annual shoreline cleanup, call Commander Gene Pett at 918 787 6103.
