tulsa praise orch(Miami, OK) – The Coleman Theatre in downtown Miami is pleased to announce the return of the Tulsa Praise Orchestra for a special Big Band Christmas Show.  The event will take place on Saturday, December 21st at 7:30 p.m. in the theatre.

During the summer of 1995, trumpeter Bob Archer put out the word that he would be forming a new Big Band in Tulsa.  The group quickly worked up a repertoire of Gospel and patriotic tunes and began an extraordinary journey that has taken them to nearly 500 concerts throughout Oklahoma, Arkansas, Texas, Missouri, Kansas, New Mexico, New Jersey and New York.

Truly and amazing group of performers, the Tulsa Praise Orchestra is equally at home playing in a community church or in a major concert hall. “We love it when the audience is tapping their feet and clapping their hands to a song like “God Bless the USA”, says Archer.

Today, the orchestra is staffed by professional level musicians who reside throughout Oklahoma from Tulsa to Oklahoma City.  “The dedication of our players and members is unsurpassed” claims Archer.  “Some of these folks joined in on our very first concert 16 years ago. I am completely humbled by that”.

Ticket prices for the Big Band Christmas Show are $14 for adults, $12 for seniors and $10 for students and children.  Tickets can be ordered over the phone by calling 918-540-2425 or at the Coleman box office at 101 North Main Street.  A $1 preservation fee will be added to each ticket to assist in the restoration of the Historic Coleman Theatre.
