The calendar may show mid-winter, but the minds of many Oklahomans will be on summer days on the water as they attend the 2014 Tulsa Boat Sport and Travel Shown (January 27 – February 2). If you plan to be one of these people, the Grand River Dam Authority invites you to drop by its booth. Our team will be there, promoting boating safety, sharing lake rules and regulations, providing information about upcoming lake events and answering questions about Grand and Hudson lakes.
For many years, GRDA has been a presence at area boat shows, like Tulsa’s, and this year’s booth promises to be bigger and better than before. That is important because such events are an opportunity for GRDA’s team to spend a little extra time with lake enthusiasts, discussing the many aspects of the 70,000 surface acres of lakes under GRDA control. At the booth you can get more information about the Kyle Williams Safe Boating Classes taught by the GRDA Police Department, as well information on the annual Rush For Brush habitat enhancement programs, the importance of life jacket usage, lake permitting processes and even information on the Grand Lake Shoreline Management Plan (SMP).
All of this, and more, is provided to help GRDA fulfill its mission to make certain that “on and around our lakes, we will support recreational development, environmental awareness and good safety practices to ensure the continued improvement of the quality of life for all those who utilize our resources.”
